Her name has been buzzing, so i downloaded it last week. With all my time in the car lately commuting to work.. i have almost every song memorized by now ;)

She has been described as a "self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra. Which may sound funny... but after listening to the entire album.. i would have to agree.

Sister times.

This weekend was filled with sister times.

My sister Rachel is the adventurous one.

She's spent the last couple of years living in S.Korea... and when she came home this past fall we thought we had her for good....

but she's at it again, off to Seoul for more adventures.

Everyone in my family is in a season of change this January.

My parents just relocated hours away for new jobs.

Rachel is moving back to Korea.

and Me and my other sister just transitioned jobs as well.

2012 is for change.

it is all good.. and quite a bundle of blessings.

This weekend my parents came in to town to bid adieu to Rach, and we celebrated over an italian feast toasting newness for us all.

it was sweet.

The rest of the weekend was filled with food, and coffee, and sister time.

i love my sisters. and the rare and special times when we are all together.

they came to visit me at work... and then we had dinner at the crepe cellar with "honorary sister" Mary Ellen.

HI!

music monday... aaaaahhhh. Several months ago my hard-drive crashed unexpectedly (i mean like you ever expect your entire computer life to just poof be gone!) BUT... i lost all of my music.. photos...etc from forever. It was sad, it was like my youth had died. :( wahhh... Oh well, im kindof over that now,ive had time to heal :). Ha.. i say all of this because i just recently got my computer a new brain... and its weird no longer having my music or anything .. and well im not as good as i used to be with finding new music. (pandora killed our need to discover.. or did it birth it?)

This piece is pretty self explanatory... but for a Christmas gift for my friend Mary Ellen, i made this wall art for her home.

I remembered her talking about really wanting some new art to hang up around her house.. i knew this would be a great, and easy gift to give!

It was super easy... the hardest part was figuring out what i wanted it to say!!

I have always been a fan of the wrapping paper you can find at stores like papersource, and other crafty, paper gift shops. We actually have several from all over that we've framed and hung in our home... of maps and butterflies and its some of my favorite pieces.

They are all typically a generic size (and super affordable) (close to 20" by 30") Which is so very convenient because IKEA sells a frame the perfect size!

A "Paris monument" map, made up the perfect pale pinks, greens and blues.

and voila!

Welp, January has finally decided to show up.

i cant believe how fast 2011 went blah blah blah blah blah......byyye.

No, it sure was a good year... had its ups and downs, but ultimately i feel each year gets better and better... in my book!

So that means 2012 will surely be incredible.

1. I am starting a new job!!! yay!

and i just have this feeling that everything else will be new too. :)

I've had a whole week off because of christmas break.. and it's been nice. I feel all caught up on "winter cleaning... and baking and feel good about the newness of the year.

Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful day outside... 65 degrees and sunny will always make this girl smile! And that really is what put this year off to a great start!

I hate new years resolutions......... well not really i just really have always followed the philosophy of that old Carolyn Arrend's song "New years day" that... ' This will be my resolution...every day is new years day..'

Really though.. i cling to His new mercies every morning and i really don't like the guilty feeling of breaking a resolution... drinking too many sodas, or forgetting to work out.. or whatever. Because January 1st can be every day.. and we get a new opportunity to be new. And frankly without that, i wouldn't make it.

trimmings from Dorothy..

I really don't want to take my tree down...(ever) its so cozy and i love the smell and the glow.

But alas, it is definitely on my "to-do list" this week sometime...

Every year i've scrounged up some sort of trimmings for our tree.. something in budget... or reusable.

This year i made a few yarn ornaments, purchased a $2 pack of silver balls, and clipped my special vintage photographs.

My great grandmother was moved into an assisted living facility a couple of years ago and in doing that they started dividing up some of her things throughout the family... organizing and getting rid of unnecessary things.

One day while visiting with my mom and grandmother we went through all of her photographs. I held up each one and had her describe anything she remembered.. or who was in the photo. I made a huge stack of photos that were of people she couldn't remember or that were unrecognizable to her. I've loved these photos forever! It's so cute to see someone from the 40's and 50's taking photos of their shadows, or goofing off. I like to imagine the scenario of the their day and what was happening when the photo was shot.

A little over a week ago, 1 day before her 95th birthday my great grandmother passed away.

She lived a really great life, and I'm glad she is now with her sweetheart in heaven.

I'll always have these photos as a reminder of one of my last memories with her.

This year with all of our crazy schedules, and plans. (aka:LIFE) we celebrated Christmas a week early in Texas with Luke's family. It was relaxing and sweet. Every year more and more i care more about quality time and good food, than any gift i could ever receive! My parents, and siblings all came up last night and we exchanged all of our gifts in our tiny home, it was precious.. and meaningful. (and a first, to celebrate here!) Tomorrow morning will be the first time Luke and I have ever stayed home for christmas, and we are both really excited! Cant wait to sleep in and have brunch with some friends.
Christmas to me is like a round 1 to New years.. and i think of everything that has happened this year.. and start getting nostalgic/hopeful for all the new things that will happen in the coming year!
This New Year is already filled with promises of newness and change! (ill expound on this later !)

And i really am ready for a new and fresh start and change!

I hope that this season is filled with lots of treasured moments of love, laughter and good food!

May your days be Merry and Bright.

I hope you all had a fantastic thanksgiving and didn't eat too much!!

we drove down to visit my parents yesterday, we did the usual... eat turkey yada yada yada...

my mom freaks out anytime all of us are all together and makes us do a major photo shoot.

After we left we had some quality time with some friends, who i am so very thankful for.

For the first time ever i did a little black friday shopping, hit up target at midnight... our entire shopping experience lasted about 17minutes... (felt like one of those old shopping game shows) we got some good stuff. :)

The rest of today will involve lots of rest... leftovers, homemade xmas decorating, and maybe a christmas movie!

I need to apologize... I'm cheating on you with Christmas!

yes, im listening to christmas music and only christmas music now.

yes, i plan to get my tree this week.

yes, i got confused and bought a present to give away on thursday!

really i just believe christmas is apart of thanksgiving... why else would santa come through the parade on thanksgiving.. duh!

So anyways.. in honor of ushering in CHRISTMAS... last night i had a little craft night.. wine and Love Actually and i made a few ornaments.. and created some 'knock off' crafts inspired by anthro!

retail value of these two together is around $80-$90

I made a terrible mess... but it was fun.

I had a conversation with a friend the other day about wealthiness... and how having a lot of money robs you of creativity (in most cases) And really i find pride and enjoyment in finding a look a like shirt that should've been $200 or making things instead of just buying them.

It's rewarding.

I still want to make a few more ornaments.. im visualizing my holiday decor, we only own like 3 xmas ornaments. Each year i have used yarn & polaroids for ornaments.. so got to get creative!

Atlanta weekend

This past weekend Mary Ellen & I went down to Atlanta for a few days, we spent some time with her fam... and did a little shopping... and of course drank lots of coffee.

This was monday morning we went to this tiny little place called Roswell Provisions, and it was so super cute.

Next trip is in a few week to the mountains with some girlfriends! I can hardly wait!

The weather around here is very pleasing. There are days when its so cold... and tights boots and a coat are required. Then there are days like today... where i could've gotten away with a sundress and a cardi. I like it... its gradual, and sensitive. Considerate, because usually i get really sick when the weather changes. And i don't want any of that. :)

I am so in love with coffee dates, and colorful leaves, and antiquing and shopping with my friends.

Can't get any better.

The Masquerade 2011

This year for halloween, we decided to throw a masquerade party!!

It was loads of fun, with lots of fall treats, s'mores, cider, caramel apples, candy corn and chili!!

we had a good time hanging by the fire.. and ending the night with a spontaneous dance party.

Fall and halloween are always my favorite and this year was a success with pumpkin patches, cracker barrel visits, and an official fall party.

Now its time to get excited about the holidays! and maybe a few trips to the mountains.. mmm yep.

The past 2 weekends I've gone to antique depots which have both been amazing. Yesterday the one we went to is a once a month deal, and it was indoor/outdoor... and with the cold air that has finally reached North Carolina.. it was COLD! we all kept saying how we wished we would have brought gloves! (hah we can be dramatic) really though.. 65-70 is my dream temperature. I want it to stay like this forever!!!!

Bathroom makeover...

So i told you i painted our bathroom black.... well, here it is.

this little bathroom has been through a lot... its been painted like 50 times disastrously. (long story) But i really am so happy with the black.

I think my next project will be to do something "new" in our spare room. I have some ideas... making plans as of now. :)

I have always been drawn to dark walls. It makes a space feel cozy and intriguing. A couple of years

ago when Luke and I were moving into our house we had to paint the entire house. (due to some sheet

rock work, every room needed paint! nightmare/dream) Anyways one of the colors we toy'd with was

BLACK! It was nerve racking at first... because i had never seen it done before... (before the days of

pinterest, and my obsession with design blogs) Anyways we ended up painting one of the spare

bedrooms black.. and LOVED IT! It is currently the music room... and Luke uses it as a chalkboard

when he's practicing... but its so fun. I've been wanting to paint an accent wall or something.. but

decided 2 days ago to do our guest bathroom!

I am absolutely in love with it! its perfect, it went from white to black.. and couldn't be better. Here is

my inspiration.... and I'll show you my final product in the next day or so!!

This past Sunday my family was in town for "homecoming"

Its the same weekend every year at my Grandparents church and for as long as i can remember we have always gone.

It's usually entertaining, always distant relatives who are around and potluck lunch afterward.

us "kids" headed out as soon as we finished and explored in the church basement... walked in the alley's and reminisced on years past when we'd get in trouble for running through the grave yard.

It's always fun to see my brother Asher, his girlfriend Haley and my sister Rachel, no matter what the occasion ;) (**its good to see sister Jessica too.. but we see each other everyday!)

i remember parts of this day so vividly.. the way the weather felt unusually warm for december, the aimless walks around the city.

I love change. i love seasons.

i like when seasons change.

the anticipation of what's to come.

i love the way fall smells, the way it caresses my skin in the morning.
the bite of the breeze.

But to get to the heart of it, its more of an affair of the wait.

i love halloween. But it's really only because i love thanksgiving and christmas.

I love halloween because its the anticipation, its the pumpkins on your front porch til they rot. The leaves that somehow always make their way all the way into my kitchen.
the pumpkin flavored.. everything.
I love halloween because it lasts.
thanksgiving is over in a day.
Christmas, usually is a disappointment.
All of this to say, i'm like this in every crevice of my life.
it can be unhealthy.
but it can also be the breath of life.
the excitement in the mundane.
I dont want my future to be christmas.. and all this time im hanging out with halloween.. and needless to say im missing out on my favorite part. see what i mean?
I don't want to be disappointed.

I'm learning balance.
to be a planner.. so there will always be anticipation.
but i wont get disappointed.

I want to be a dreamer, but i also want to live my dreams.
i want to be excited, and not let down.

to have high hopes and to be satisfied.

I know that i sound somewhat crazy.. but this is the way i'm wired.
and its for a reason.
I'm just trying to figure it all out.

Community: It's something our generation strives for. From facebook, twitter, blogs, I feel like the term 'social media' was penned just for us. We all want it.. even if we don't know thats what we want. I think its something that is stitched in our soul.. something the lord designed in us from the beginning..to have and to long for community and fellowship. I've grown up going through different seasons... of lots of community.. and then, lack of it. Moving to Charlotte 4 years ago, knowing virtually no one had the potential of being a lonely time. But I was almost immediately immersed in community, Charlotte has something special. Maybe its the big small city vibe.. or all the artistic souls looking and longing for the same thing. But it really is one of a kind. Charlotte may not be our home forever.. but the community that is here will always be home. Yadkin ave is the best street in Charlotte.. (just sayin) we live next door and across the street from some of our best friends! Spontaneous game nights and picnics at the park never get old. This is my yadkin family:

Hi friends!

Happy Saturday!!!!! So glad its the weekend.
I am currently resting on the couch (after a long day at work) with my feet up, a clean house, and Laura Croft tomb raider ;) awaiting the arrival of my family!
My sister Rachel who just moved back to the states from Korea has been home for about a week and a half and her birthday just happened so my family is coming up to Charlotte to have a birthday cookout and a sleepover! I am excited.. this is the first time we've done anything like this in two years! I have a few gems that Luke has recently gotten me while he is out on the road.

One of which being this amazing necklace. (its my absolute favorite)

its a wooden charm set in a bronze riveted casing with a bird cage printed on it & a tiny key charm. I really love it and feel like he did such a good job finding a unique piece that fits my style.

Another set of treasures he got were these sticker books.

I have always had a slight obsession with stickers, since i was a child. I always collected stickers and loved keeping track of them in my sticker book.

Luke, also loves stickers... he uses anything and everything as his "grown up" sticker book, he's laptop, iphone, drums, .... So when he came across these two amazing books i was super excited to add to our collection.

Another obsession/collection we have are bottles.

These miniature viles really make me giddy because they are so cute.

I haven't decided what will fill these, but whatever it is i guarantee it will be cute, (&tiny)

Last week was my best friend's anniversary!

Hi strangers.

I've officially been off of the computer for a week and a half... no internet, unexpectedly.

It's been so busy I've hardly noticed... but coming back into the blogosphere is a bit overwhelming tonight!!! So much to catch up on!!!!!

I promise i have lots of posts... and different things i am getting into that i cant wait to share.

In addition to getting internet set up at our house, we now have cable (for the first time ever for me) So I really just wanna watch a show with my man right now.

2 days...& Can't get enough.. 'love and sunshine'

hi guys!

I've been somewhat, absent minded lately... trying to numb my way through this week...

I'll tell ya, the days after a vacation, especially going back to work, are never easy.

Especially when being reunited with my man, at the end of that work week, after a vacation. Basically, i tried to stay as busy as possible this past week, which left me avoiding things.. like blogging, and cleaning my house. ha.

But it is now the weekend, and i am relaxing, going to breakfast in the morning, and getting ready for Luke to move back home! yay. (7 weeks on a bus, im sure he's ready too!)

Seriously, its been the longest 7 weeks of my life, and i am thrilled that this summer is about to start and Luke will be here for it!
monday will be the sweetest day!

What's for dinner.

Vacation is over.

But- i can still eat like im on vacation!

I had some Mahi mahi.. and wanted to make some fish tacos for myself tonight.. but when i left Trader Joes without tortillas.. i had to compromise and just have a little medly of fish& taco things.

I used lime juice, cilantro, s&p & a little bit of taco seasoning for the fish.

Roasted some corn in lime juice and cilantro.

cut up cucumbers, cilantro and tomatoes.

Had some avocado salsa de verde from Trader Joes (the avocados weren't ripe tonight so i tried something new... and it was amazing!)

mixed that with corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and lime juice/cilantro.. for a little "corn slasa" action.

Made a cilantro lime Ranch sauce...

Then mixed my roasted corn, mahi mahi and the rest of the ingredients together!

it was delicious, i just ate it with chips.. but im sure tacos next time will be divine.

Vacation diaries vol.3

So I spent my last day with my family, walking on the board walk, eating seafood and losing our car for a bit :)
Had some stressful car issues before I headed to my next destination, but made it blissfully!

Arrived at this gem.. On the beach. I don't ever wanna leave!

Today was filled with photos in the ocean with wedding dresses, me Getting liberated in the ocean, sandy walks and talks with the girls. And a little bit of boogie boards.. :D

Vacation diaries vol.2

So, another great day...
We spent most of it at the beach, then after lunch cooled off at the pool. The beach was perfect, windy weather never let me get too hot! Felt like I could spend forever out there.

Unfortunately I must have had a reaction to the sun on my feet, my feet swelled up last night!! Super weird, keepig them propped up and drinking lots of water today! Hopefully they puff down today so I can get back on my feet!

I Had such a fun chill day at the beach with part of my family! I loved driving down to the beach and spending some time alone.. Much needed! Then a day at the beach and lazy river... I mean c'mon.. This is just what the doctor ordered!!
Hope you had a happy weekend! Happy mothers day mommy's! I dream about the day that I am a mom... (: I have so many amazing mother examples in my life, including my mom and mother In law who are both amazing! So blessed.
So thanks moms :)

And my heart aches for every hopeful mom today, may you feel grace and have sunshine in your heart.

Beach countdown......

AHHHHHH!

I will honestly admit i've never been much of a beach bum...

But i blame it on my fair skin, and the fact all of my childhood memeories of the beach include hauling lots of chairs, a cooler, towels, toys... etc for a family of 6.. and getting pushed under the wave and feeling lost on a crowded commercialized beach.

Now, if i wouldve seen blue crush growing up maybe i would have turned into a legit beach babe... but i missed out on the goodness.

I am more of a book under an umbrella kind of girl when it comes to the beach.. and i have fallen more in love with it.. now that its just me/luke or just me.. and i can travel light.

I am headed to the beach on mothers day.. to spend a few days with my family.. (or part of it) and then leaving that beach to meet up with some of my lady friends at another beach.. and spend time with them!

I am really excited.

I never took beach trips in high school or anything so i feel like such a grown up going to the beach alone!

Once i get back from the beach.. i will have only one week left til my man gets back from tour.. and the best summer of my life will start! yayyy

In other news.. My computer crashed.. or something.

It wont turn on and i am super sad. Hopefully i can get everything off of it.. (praying)

Ive backed up a lot of stuff... but not recently.. so there are a lot of treasures.. on there that i would be so sad to lose.

Luckily we just bought a new computer before Luke left.. so i can have his old one.. But i do want my things off my old book.

So- all that to say i had some photos to upload.. but they are all in hiding right now.. in computer heaven. :(

Can't get enough... Water for Elephants

Water for Elephants.

Holy Moly.

This movie was so amazing. I haven't read the book, but always wanted to. ( dont hate me for being "that girl") But this movie was amazing in so many ways!

Visually, it was Eye candy, from the colors, the animals, the time period and the wardrobe... oh and Rob & Reese of course.

I could kill for Marlena's wardrobe in this. You should definitely see it for that alone. But the story, and acting are also impeccable.

There aren't many movies that i am already dying to see again even before its through. But this one definitely is one that i'll be bringing home.

Baby Bump!

Nope, not mine... But my friend Courtney Clark's.

She is a little past her due date, for her precious baby boy.. and we thought, 'maybe he's just waiting for his before pictures..'

So yesterday, in the hot blazing sun, we shot a few, in hopes that one day she could tell that boy.. "you were born the day after these pictures were taken"

So anyways, she is such a beauty and a burst of joy and sunshine. I wanted to share these pretty pictures of her, and have you all say a little prayer that her little boy will get into the right position and make his way into our world very soon!

Easter weekend.

Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I sure did!

I got to go meet by babe for the weekend! I left super early saturday am (3:30am early!) and came back last night, but it sure was worth it. Luke, Carlos, Jeremy and Larry were playing at a church outside of DC for an Easter service, and i just came to tag along, and to spend a tiny bit of time with my man, He's almost half-way through with this tour, about 4 more weeks to go! It can't come soon enough!

Now, that birthday(month) is almost over, I am counting down the days til my beach week!! which isn't too far away!

So thankful I've been getting to do so many little trips lately, its what keeps me going, and keeps me sane.

A town-Down.

And we're back! Birthday weekend, was a blast!!! It went so well, and we all scored such great new things! I've said it a million times, but i really do have such great friends! I am so excited and blessed to have a good group of girl friends, i don't want to ever take it for granted.

We woke up super early Saturday am and headed to Atlanta, ( a 4 hour drive) Our first stop was a large antique mall right outside of Atl. that is open only one weekend a month, and just happened to be open this weekend! It was fun to walk around and get inspired. I only took home a pretty vintage book, but they had such reasonably priced furniture and large pieces that i would definitely go back with a Uhaul someday!

After antiquing, we hit up the h&m and the mall. Shopping spree began. We literally shopped til we dropped, before we knew it, it was after 9 and we hadn't even checked into our hotel! Once we did, we all freshened up, had a photo op and then got a ride to our restaurant..

We ate at Pure(taqueria) and i found my new favorite margarita spot.

really glad to know they just opened one of these outside of charlotte! We stayed til they closed, it was so fun! Once we got back to the hotel, there was a "pool side party" happening on the 16th floor, and because we were living it up in the city this weekend, we said "why not?" It happened to be a latino party, but that was the best part! after a few dances we ended the night.

Sunday morning we headed to Ria's Bluebird for Brunch, this was fun side of town, it was a gem of a restaurant and their latte was amazing. After brunch we walked around little 5 points, and Highland areas of town. Lots of fun vintage shops, and boutiques. It was the most beautiful day, the weather was PERFECT!

All in all this trip was awesome, I'm already scheming my next trip. I believe the next one will include more sand and sun!!! Next weekend im going to DC to see Luke, cant wait!!

Birthday week rolled through... And, I sure had a good time, and it is only just beginning! I truly have some of the best(est) friends in the whole world! Really. i do. I don't know what i would've done without them, (since my husband is away) flowers, Dinner, so many cute presents and cupcakes on my birthday night! Then last night at "Wives Club" There were even more, presents, cupcakes and good times! And then the mot amazing surprise ever... a ticket to see Luke next weekend in DC for easter!!! Best surprise everrrr!!! i can not even wait! We were unsure we would even get to see each other at all for the whole 7 week tour so a weekend together, even if it is in between practices and sound checks, is to me, perfect! i just cant wait to see his face! yay

Tomorrow is my original bday present. A shopping trip to Atlanta with 4 of my friends! We are staying in a snazzy hotel downtown, and shopping, relaxing, eating good food, and being "girls" for the next 48 hours! This really feels like a month long birthday celebration! So so fun! feeling so so blessed. Can't wait to update you after our fun weekend!

So, after a day filled with hang time with Luke, the only logical way to end the day was to spend some time with our friends, outside (since the weather was a dream) and eat food. duh.

So the amazing Arnold's offered up their sweet back porch, and awesome new grill to have a cookout!

Mary Ellen's house is always super cute, (that's a whole 'nother post!) with lots of cute details, and always fresh flowers. And now that its warmer, and they've fixed up their back porch its so fun just to hangout and be outside!

There are way more pics of us, and the Arnolds, only because i forgot to get my camera out when more people arrived (i was probably stuffing my face with chips and dip) And also, it eventually got dark, and i hate the flash, so i just actually dont take pictures when its dark. So there you have it. Here are some fun shots of the ones who showed up while the sun was still up. :)

Are you the type that throws party's, or do you just attend them? We are definitely both, i love having people over, and entertaining. But sometimes its just great to just show up!

Brighter Days.

Mondays.

Mondays are my saturdays. They are usually amazing, and beautiful. But on the slight chance they are yucky and rainy Luke stays home from work and i get to spend the day with him! Which makes a cloudy day so much better. But for a change this monday i got both sunshines.

Luke is leaving for a tour and will be gone for 7 weeks. So since he was leaving on tuesday (today) We spent all day monday hanging out and spendin' time together. It was great, and such a gorgeous day!

We ate lunch and walked around uptown.

Went to the park to see an Art Exhibit outside...

It was cool, we acted like tourists and took tons of pics. (obviously)

Later that day we had a cookout with a ton of friends!

I miss him already. And he's only been gone a few hours. But i am super excited for him, and he's livin' a dream so it's not so bad.

And, well its my birthday month. so, i can cry if i wanna.

Having a spouse that travels can be hard, and well even though this will be the longest stretch we've had so far.. there are still things that i've learned to do to keep me happy while he's away. Do you have any bribes for yourself when your other half is gone?

Insipire: Hair! (Sunday)

Ombre, color melting, laziness, low maintenance, change without commitment.... Hair.

It's that time of year when my body longs for change. For my mind to feel just a little bit different in my skin. When my wardrobe and lifestyle start to feel a little more freeing and exciting.

So all this leads to me wanting to do something different with my hair.

It never fails.

This year i was really inspired by the 'care free' look of color melting.

My hair is so dark (well.. because i make it that way) That i cant really do much with lightening my color... and if i do, i'll regret it in a month and go back to black.

so i feel like for my change of heart type of attitude, this color is perfect, non committal and not to harsh or drastic.

and here's mine: a less dramatic version. :)

This Weekend Luke and I headed to "hot-lanta" for 2 super kids birthday parties!

It was fun to get away and spend some time with one of our favorite families.

It was a "balloon themed party" which was so cute and Heather did such a great job at coming up with great ideas for it!

(also can't get enough of this amazing blue couch, i pray i find a vintage jewel as good as this some day)

and awesome "dr. Seus cake" with popping of balloons instead of candles!

I knew what he meant, but i made him explain anyways. And its totally true. I am so glad that we have so many amazing friends. And im so glad to be apart of their lives, and have them in ours.

We are blessed.

Music Love

Okay, so im sure im creating some reputation by always talking about "amazing bands" and who you should listen to etc.. i mean.. who am i to say?

But REALLY, Charlotte is over flowing with amazing musicians and i can't help but spread the word!!

I've talked about Matrimony before on the blog, but they've been writing new music, touring like crazy, and are about to wind up their SXSW tour this weekend.. (which is so exciting, and if you live in charlotte you should definitely come out on monday)

anyways the band consists of some pretty amazing people:

Ashlee Brown being one of them... who is one of my close girlfriends.

Hey guys!

So glad we finally sprung forward! That extra hour of sunshine makes me feel good, get more done, and be more motivated. And I didn't waste anytime jumping into that "more done" attitude. Sunday we had some friends over and it was so fun just getting to hang out with everyone. Today i've been cleaning, ran some errands, and heading to the gym in a bit.

I've been dreaming of sand and sunshine.

I have already started planning 2 beach trips in 2 months!

So excited i can hardly wait!

and my birthday is so soon, i have so much to look forward to.

Im honestly more of an umbrella and a book on the beach kind of girl, but i do love relaxing there. It's just a major ordeal to cover every inch of my skin in spf75! haha ( i burn like a baby )

But looking at these photos makes for a dreamy afternoon.
